전통적으로 부적을 태우며 소원을 빌던 의식에서 영감을 얻어, 염원이 실현되는 가장 역동적인 찰나를 시각화한 프로젝트입니다. 단순한 그래픽 구현을 넘어, 실제 어딘가 붙어있던 얇은 종이가 불에 타들어 가는 듯한 생생한 디테일을 위해 정교한 합성 과정을 거쳤습니다.
구겨지고 낡은 종이의 질감과 불꽃의 흔적을 고화질로 구현하여 시각적 몰입감을 극대화시켰습니다. 특히 이 프로젝트는 사용자가 디자인을 단순히 감상하는 것에 그치지 않고, 직접 개입하고 체험하는 요소를 설계하는 데 집중했습니다.
유광 코팅된 포스터 위로 자연스럽게 남는 지문 자국들은 결함이 아닌 체험의 도구가 됩니다. 플래시를 터뜨려 촬영하면 지문의 반사가 마치 피어오르는 연기처럼 표현되도록 의도하여, 사용자가 사진을 찍는 행위를 통해 비로소 부적을 태우는 의식을 완성하게끔 했습니다. 시간의 흐름에 따라 타들어 가는 부적의 단계를 나열한 리무버블 스티커 역시, 라이터나 개인 소품에 부착하여 각자의 일상 속에서 불타는 부적의 서사를 직접 커스텀하고 즐길 수 있도록 기획했습니다.
Inspired by the traditional ritual of burning talismans to pray for wishes, this project visualizes the most dynamic moment when a heartfelt desire is realized. Beyond simple graphic implementation, I went through a sophisticated compositing process to capture the vivid details of thin paper actually catching fire and burning away.
By realizing the textures of crumpled, aged paper and the traces of flames in high definition, I maximized visual immersion. In particular, this project focuses on designing elements where users do not merely observe the design but actively intervene and experience it.
Fingerprints naturally left on the glossy coated poster serve as tools for experience rather than flaws. I intended for the reflection of these fingerprints to appear like rising smoke when photographed with a flash. This allows the user to complete the ritual of burning the talisman through the very act of taking a photo.
The removable stickers, which depict the stages of a talisman burning over time, were also designed to allow individuals to customize and enjoy the narrative of a flaming charm in their daily lives by attaching them to lighters or personal belongings.
