봄이 시작됨을 축하하고 길운을 바라는 입춘대길(立春大吉) 부적에서 영감을 받아 시작된 프로젝트입니다. 단순히 전통을 복제하는 것이 아니라, 현대인들에게 필요한 삶의 태도를 부적의 형식을 빌려 재해석했습니다.
자기가 좋아하는 대로 행한다는 '종오소호(從吾所好)'와 자기만의 중심과 원칙을 잃지 않는다는 의미의 '화이부동(和而不同)'을 통해 세상에 휘둘리지 않는 단단한 삶의 태도를 담았습니다.
'진인사대천명(盡人事待天命)'을 중심으로 성공과 성취를 뜻하는 사자성어들을 배치해 액운을 막고 복을 부르는 염원을 담았습니다. 휴대폰 뒷면이나 벽면 등 손길이 닿는 곳 어디든 자유롭게 활용할 수 있는 마스킹 테이프 형태로 제작하여, 부적이라는 고전적 매체를 일상적인 소품으로 자연스럽게 스며들도록 기획했습니다.
This project was inspired by the Ipchun-daegil (立春大吉) talisman, a traditional charm that celebrates the beginning of spring and carries wishes for good fortune. Rather than simply replicating tradition, I reinterpreted the essential attitudes for modern life by adopting the format of a talisman.
The project embodies a resilient life philosophy—one that remains unshaken by external influences. This is expressed through the concepts of Jong-o-so-ho (從吾所好), which signifies acting according to one’s own heart and passions, and Hwa-i-bu-dong (和而不同), the principle of staying true to one's own center and principles while remaining in harmony with the world.
Centered around the phrase Jin-in-sa-dae-cheon-myeong (盡人事待天命)—doing one's absolute best and leaving the rest to fate—I arranged various four-character idioms symbolizing success and achievement. Through these, I captured the heartfelt desire to ward off misfortune and invite true blessings.
By designing this as a masking tape that can be used freely on any surface, such as the back of a phone or a wall, I planned for the classical medium of the talisman to naturally permeate daily life as a familiar, everyday object.
