모든 생명은 그 자체로 존귀하다는 '천상천하 유아독존(唯我獨尊)'의 본래 의미를 현대적인 그래픽으로 재해석한 프로젝트입니다. 자색은 '천상천하 유아독존'을 외쳤던 부처를 상징하며, 한 줄기 빛 아래에 있는 꽃 한 송이는 '나'라는 모든 개개인의 존재를 뜻합니다.
해당 프로젝트의 핵심은 자색의 그라데이션과 빛의 설계입니다. 자칫 무거울 수 있는 철학적 주제에 화사한 톤을 가미하여 현대적이고 생동감 있는 에너지의 색감으로 설계했습니다. 부처를 상징하는 고귀한 자색을 꽃잎 그래픽에 투영하고, 한 줄기 빛 아래 놓인 꽃 한 송이를 통해 '세상에 홀로 피어난 존엄한 나'라는 존재를 형상화했습니다.
겨울을 견디고 피어나는 꽃처럼, 각자의 위치에서 최선을 다하는 모든 개개인이 가장 귀한 존재가 될 수 있다는 희망의 메시지를 담았습니다.
날카로우면서도 유려한 한자 타이포그래피와 부드러운 꽃잎의 곡선을 조화시켜, 강인함과 유연함이 공존하는 그래픽으로 일상적인 사물에 적용되어, 스스로의 가치를 상기하게 만드는 특별한 경험을 제공하도록 제작했습니다.
This project reinterprets the original meaning of "Above and below heaven, I alone am worthy" (唯我獨尊)—the philosophy that all life is inherently noble—through modern graphics. The color purple symbolizes the Buddha, who proclaimed this message of self-sovereignty, while a single flower positioned under a beam of light represents the existence of every individual "I."
The core of this project lies in the purple gradation and the intentional design of light. To prevent the philosophical theme from feeling too heavy, I infused bright tones to create a contemporary and vibrant color palette filled with energy. By projecting the noble purple of the Buddha onto the petal graphics and focusing on a single flower under a streak of light, I visualized the existence of the "dignified self blooming alone in the world."
Like a flower that blooms after enduring the winter, this project carries a message of hope: that every individual doing their best in their respective place is the most precious being of all.
By harmonizing sharp yet elegant Hanja (Chinese character) typography with the soft curves of petals, I created graphics where strength and flexibility coexist. Applied to everyday objects, these designs are intended to provide a special experience that reminds users of their own self-worth.
