상상과 현실, 과거와 현재를 아우르는 한국의 청룡

한국 전통 용의 특징과 상징성을 타이포그래피와 3D 그래픽으로 재해석한 프로젝트입니다. 상상 속 존재를 가상의 공간에 구현하고, 이를 다시 현실로 끌어내어 상상과 현실을 아우르는 초현실적인 용의 기운을 담아냈습니다.
용의 순 우리말인 '미르'를 영문 커스텀 타이포그래피 'MIREU(H)' 로 형상화했으며, 용의 이빨과 발톱, 비늘 등 세부적인 묘사를 부드러운 움직임과 함께 3D 그래픽으로 구현했습니다.
특히 문자가 살아 움직여 용이 되거나 용의 기운이 문자로 전이되는 연출을 통해 상상과 현실이 교차하는 지점을 표현했습니다. 또한 용의 몸체와 주변 타이포그래피에서 뿜어져 나오는 푸른 빛은 단순한 생명체를 넘어 영적인 에너지를 가진 존재임을 시각화합니다.
하단에서 유연한 곡선을 그리며 완만하게 솟아오르는 움직임은 평면의 제약을 넘어 생명력을 얻은 '미르'의 신비로운 존재감을 입체적으로 투영합니다.
This project reinterprets the characteristics and symbolism of the traditional Korean dragon through typography and 3D graphics. By manifesting an imaginary being into virtual space and bringing it into the real world, I captured a surreal energy that bridges imagination and reality.
The native Korean word for dragon, 'Mir,' is represented through the custom English typography 'MIREU(H),' with detailed textures of teeth, claws, and scales reflected in fluid 3D movements.
The direction—where letters come to life to become a dragon or the dragon's energy takes shape as letters—expresses the intersection of imagination and reality. Furthermore, the blue light emanating from the dragon's body and surrounding typography visualizes it as a being possessed of spiritual energy.
The movement, rising gently in a fluid, curved path, three-dimensionally projects the mystical presence of 'Mir' as it transcends the constraints of a flat plane to gain a sense of vitality.
